"ECHOES OF HIROSHIMA

"The sky was clearer than clear should be. The crew had unlimited visibility. As if the heavens wanted everyone to see how great the anger of a Little Boy could be.

I wonder why it's here? Can't you see it Mother, coming near? Please carry me. Lift me higher up so I can see!

The bay swings open. Now he's away! Tell the folks back home a little boy went out to play.

No more war. There's nothing to fight. All we're seeing are a mllion points of light. Nothing but light, nothing but light.....

We're nothing, nothing but light.."

THE UNIVERSAL CULTIVATION OF HUMAN BEINGS AS REFLECTED IN HISTORY'S ANNALS OF THIS CHRONOLOGICAL TIME ZONE IS AN OVERVIEW OF EXISTENCE; "THE HUMAN LEGACY OF CIVILIZATION", IT'S ARTS AND GIFTS.

THE GREATEST STRENGTH OF ALL CREATION IS WITHIN THE LETTING GO OF EVERYTHING AS WE ARE BREATHING IN AND BREATHING OUT THE UNIFIED FIELD OF COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS. WE MUST TAKE THIS MAGICAL CARPET RIDE OF LIFE WHICH PROPELS US TOWARDS OUR DESTINY. WE THE ARTIST, THE CREATORS OF ILLUSIONS, THE INFINITE VARIATIONS OF CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS ARE PHENOMENAL.
It is the journey, not the destination that really and truthfully counts since we human beings appeared on this evolutionary planetary scene. It's gargantuan! Every single event, object, and person plays an absolutely necessary part in the accomplishing of life's goals. This very moment transforms the external realms through continued creativity from the depths of the internal domain which also dissolves into oblivion. There isn't any shortage of artistic endeavors producing artworks upon life's canvas. There is such massive creativity that one forgets to think what one is bringing into existence. Yet, it seems one doesn't get a chance to stop, look, listen and appreciate the whole picture. What we are producing in this humanity is from 'ALL THAT IS, WHICH IS GOOD' from A to Z. The fleeting world's illusions are inspiring the artist's magical hands with interchangeable, brief and miraculous gestures of nature. Whatever we individuals think into manifestation belongs to the whole of creation. History is writing itself the never-ending story! This is Creation's undying compassion and burning desire to live. It's a blessing supreme that, 'AN ARTIST LIVES TO DIE!' as stated so profoundly by the Artist/Poet - JV Harvey.

We are very fortunate and blessed to be human beings with the capacity to handle infinite amounts of information relating to the historical culture of our species. We are the universal mind at work creating and producing extraordinary people, places and things constantly. We are the experiences within the living moments lived. History (Hi - Story) is the concept which capsulizes intense impressions of memory regarding the evolutionary processes on this human sojourn. The trajectory of thought transports the optical illusions into the mental lobe where structures evokes images in relationship to life's energy. Think about the many people known and unknown who are an integral part of our daily life. They, like ourselves, may not be known to the majority of the population as famous, however their participation in the human existence is equally significant a contribution to the evolutionary growth and development of our collective consciousness. Their deeds are recorded and imprinted in the subconscious realms in psychological compartments of the mind.

Every human being is miraculous. The personification of life energy is enormous as indicated by the six billion + population of mankind upon this planet. Life is Omni, vast, incomprehensible and infallible. We are every man and every thing in movement as a temporal, momentary and transitory manifestation. When we stop and look at the obvious happenings within creation truthfully, we are merely subjects to our own creative endeavors. We see the evidence of illusions that confirms 'this too shall pass as all things must.' We acknowledge and accept that we did not get here by accident, therefore we have arrived here by the creative processes of life energy unfolding in the here and now. The living history proceeds a pace with each component part in tact. Perfection rules the day, even when imperfectly executing the gifts endowed to us by nature. Every aspect of life on earth is interconnected, interrelated and interchangeable to the pulse of life energy sustaining all that we see and don't see. We are the artists, the writers of this history. When our task is completed as all human beings, a torch of the eternal flame is passed to another like a runner in a relay race passing the baton to the next runner with the determination to win the race. We must keep history alive in the making of the human race.

This incredible source of being, which transforms everything in it's grasp according to the highest order, when we are conscious of it, constantly discovers, through creativity, the unknown reality. Through our continuous investigation and creative surges, things become known and the choices, to either change with the natural flow of these revelations or go against the flow of the tide which causes one to perish unnaturally, can invoke an awakening. This state of alertness can inspire human history to an all time high, if we allow it. History technically is universal by it's nature. It is the human story that is being recorded every second we breathe. Artist have been addressing and dealing with the commonality between light and dark, as with color separation in pantone shades of infinite gradations melded into hues of contrasting dynamics of a single illumination. Light of the translucent darkness encompasses everything within it's magnetic field making no distinction.

It is the artist within us who understands the unification of the one field of energy from whence we all come and we inevitably all return, therefore the foot prints in the sands of time affirm a single carrier of humanity across the thresholds through the annals of history which are being forever written. The massive imaging of the human mind conjures past, present and future concepts for brief and fleeting moments as imprints upon the omnipresent brain. We are the Artist creating this reality and must relinquish our superficial supremacy ultimately to receive the jewels of the crown. The great picture is in production. History is a constant reminder of things that are yet to be done and documented for the forthcoming recipients of our human heritage. What we have done is finished. What we are doing is imperative. What we don't know is how to achieve the universal goal of total self-mastery in our world of creativity today. We must transcend ourselves in order for the highest story to be told, to evolve beyond it's limitations and restrictions enforced by misunderstanding, mistrust and disease of the mind, body, soul and spirit and come to the truth about our creative nature. Every man is the one and the many. The Universe envelops the world as we attempt to come to terms with our artistry - the big plan - the supernova of design.

Isn't it more accurate to say that we bring forth that which we are working on, rather than we are working on what we want to bring forth?

Isn't it more accurate to say that we are building and experiencing what we actually are being, doing and having here and now, rather than we are working on building and experiencing what we are trying to be, do and have here and now?

The human being in all of it's vulnerability, fragility, susceptibility and sensitivity is a powerful, magical and dynamic creature by all accounts. The inner strength and fortitude by which we endure the trials and tribulations infringed by us upon our selves helps us to bring the sublime beauty to the forefront of this illusory state of human existence. This is exceptional. It takes stamina to go through all of the constant sufferings of life. The artist within understands the self-imposition of the duality and attempts to share glimpses of this insight through the creative process of the universal history of mankind. The glory is in the offering. The possibility of mastering our humanity and expanding with the universe is a revelation and great potential for total success. We are in it together, and whether we accept that or not becomes irrelevant. The fact is change hasn't ceased nor desisted through the ages. We are here creating once again on the grand canvas of life.

Everything is happening at the same time in this Universal space, quickly passing, synchronistically and simultaneously. We cannot go back. We can only be where we are. This cosmic combustion, the supernova of life energy rules the day while we the artist must work and play. The atomic energy of the human being has the force and focus to create universes beyond imagination, otherwise we would not be here and now. The transcendence of turmoil, agony and burning desire expresses the experiences which lie within the inner power of human existence. The historical storytelling substantiates the impermanency of all things manifested as kept alive with vigor and vim by the inhabitants of this planet as we come and go. The artist knows we are passing through like dust in the wind and keeps vigilance with the watchful eye, severing attachments, entrapments, and entanglements for all times.

Yes, many unsung heroes who live and die every day of life without their names mentioned in the making of history books are the ones who take the blows inflicted boldly by those who dominate. They are the nameless faces that give birth to civilization's truth, honesty, character and integrity. Through display and/or advertisement one may be remembered as somebody while everybody else who helped to create the somebodys willfully or unwillingly are the nobodies. This is all good and dandy, but the truth be told - everybody is ultimately one body. The deception is in assuming that just because we can put a name with a face, everybody else in nobody. We, the artist are the keepers at the gate. We all belong to the same Universal Human Family and the echoes of our voices are sounded throughout all of Creation in our work. Every body is like a grain of sand creating the beach of life.

The cycles birth and death are happening at the same time all the time, we needn't hasten the process. Life is an inevitable. Look at the artist that have continuously stopped to observe the repetitive cycles of our human species transformating from a hypnotic state through "The Evolutionary Expressionism of Life Energy."

We must laugh and rejoice at the absurdities we create to prevent blocking the natural flow and constitute harmonious relationships between the light and dark. If we are not learning from the errors of our ways what is the significance and/or the point of History in the first place. The same story, the same endings, the same beginnings, generation after generation is enough. We are creating a new story with a new ending and new beginning for the generations to follow in the billions of light years forthcoming. We are not doing it alone. We have each other in this collective consciousness with direct experience within ourselves regarding loving-kindness, compassion and beauty shared by the heart as we prosper and grow upon this sojourn.

Poetry #33

AN ARTIST LIVES TO DIE!

Who knows
Something may
Come of it after all
As one departs the scene
Even if too late
It is on time
And behind the tears
The knowing
And the laughter
Showing
We pass this way
But once.

THE MASQUERADE PROCESSION OF THE NOH MASKS

The word Noh, pronounced No signifies a Japanese tradition of wood carved mask covering the face of the players as discovered and researched by other Noh researchers and enthusiast. It's one of the ancient theatrical forms of drama presentation in the world, originating in the 12th century. Noh performers are generations of storytellers using visual aesthetics of these wooden mask with extraordinary physical movements from every style to suggest the esoteric essence of their play production. The ukiyo-e woodblock prints that flourished in the Tokugawa era have sustained the mysterious printing processes that are now recognized from the 18th century.

There are approximately eighty definitive Noh mask types noted in the annals of historical research on Japanese Theatre. These Noh masks are unique characters depicted by the Noh actors used by traditional performance requirements. Only selected and skilled Japanese craftsmen are chosen to create authentic Noh masks using the traditional Japanese wood carving abilites, skills and techniques from centuries ago. Producing a three dimensional Noh masks requires masterful carvers in Japan who create specifically for an individual Noh performer. It is a demanding process that requires extreme concentration and focus to produce in a limited timeframe the Noh masks.

Noh Theatre 15

Colveyco is one of many exhibitors of Noh masks on the Web. We are exhibiting prints for our web viewers interested in the subject matter. These antique prints, now in a private collection, were orginally purchased in Japan by Lawrence C. Vincent, a veteran of World War II in which he served as interpretor/translator of Japanese language. Iwao Kongon, a famous Japanese art-creator, along with the printing house of Koubun Dou has captured the ephemeral essence radiating through theses particular Masks of Noh. The brilliant printing technique used to provide the highest visual quality as reflected in these black and white graphic images are produced on extremely delicate, rare and exquisite printing paper of the times. The Noh masks production process is untouchable by far in comparison the today's standards. Due to the beautiful presentation of these Noh masks we are inspired to share this creative exhibition via our virtual gallery at this time.

Currently, unframed and covered with a sheer paper for preservation and protection due to light sensitivity, the 50 images are matted to a uniform size of 16 1/2 x 12 in., where the actual Noh Masks prints vary approximate sizes between 8 to 9 inches wide x 11 to 12 inches in height. The light and dark contrast formulations of these images represent the fixed emotions of human expression. One may bring to mind the concepts of 'one thought being ten thousand years' or 'a man with a thousand faces' and/or 'multiple personages of a schizophrenic aura'. Although we may categorize, define or label the origin of the Noh Mask - Male - Okina, Human, Ghost & Spirit, Demon, Female - Human, Ghost & Spirit and/or Kyogen, they truly transcend comprehension and inspire vision.

We have provided an extensive documentation excerpt on THEATRE AND DRAMA IN JAPAN from "The Theatre - An Introduction" by Oscar G. Brockett, second addition book, for additional information and your thorough insight and enjoyment of the Noh masks.
